I have been a member of the Pastel Artists of S.A. since shortly after it was formed in 2001, I had been painting in pastels since being introduced to them in 1998 after painting in oils and watercolours for about 18 years. Pastels have enabled me to create landscapes and seascapes as I had long wanted to. Pastels have such vibrant colours and lend themselves in creating wonderful effects for painting fur and hair when painting animals especially in painting my beloved cats.
In 2007 I relocated to Goolwa to be closer to the sea and sand dunes of the Coorong, living near the River Murray and the Murray Mouth is an added bonus as painting the sand dunes is a long held passion of mine.
I have studied under many art teachers including Chris Orchard, Max Wilks, Ross Paterson, Brian Alison and Kellie Fergusson. |
